Stuart Broad tells people on minimum wage to "Stay Humble"

Great journalism to ask Piers Morgan for a view on Broad as well. Bound to get a balanced, disinterested view from that pernicious worm.

I've heard people say something similar along the lines of "if you're on the dole in Aust you're in the richest 10% of people in the world".

I don't think he meant to be prickish tbh, he's a product of his upbringing. Piers Morgan quick to put the boot in, surprise.

Hopefully it'll raise his awareness and he might do something for someone else because of it...

Next time he gets into an on field spat with an umpire over a review will the ump be able to resist a quiet "stay humble"?

Seems a bit random if it was a dig tbh. Like, what's current happening that would've of made him say it?

Its pretty obviously a clumsy dig at KP.

"All the muppets who are on £18 grand, £15 grand, either you become better or you go and do something else," Pietersen said, as he reflected on the ECB's failure to deliver him a franchise T20 tournament to order. "The best players would play against each other week in week out. That's how you become better

Surprised anybody thinks its anything else. Normally I would call him all sorts but KP has been so odious with the crap he has said, I'l give him a pass.

so clumsy.
Good description. Nothing malicious or up himself about it..........just clumsy, foot in mouth moment. Expect the Stuart Broad is a **** bloke brigade to have a field day with it though.

I don't think he meant too much harm but he tweeted it and he deserves to be panned for it. Millionaire sports stars shouldn't be telling people how to feel.

Really its the hashtags that did him in

Son of a English cricketing dynasty who liked to vandalise stumps when they got out.

Also some quality retro-gaffes in the article:

"I was probably worth £1 million two or three years ago, when I was 23. Like every member of the squad I get to drive a Jaguar XKR free of charge because Jaguar is our sponsor.

"I do have a weakness for watches, which I tend to buy after a special achievement. When we won the Ashes in 2009, I bought a Franck Muller watch and to celebrate no 1 test status I treated myself to a gold Jean Mairet & Gillman watch.

"I invest in wine, which I buy from a wine specialist. I've probably spent about £10,000 on various cases of wine in the past year."
Something tells me he'd be the first to fall in a proper game of Goon of Fortune.

What a grudging defense trying to claim he was surprised by just how big the world was

I mean just fess up and apologise without a lame excuse.

Just a classic ignorant misjudgment by a spoiled privileged schoolboy who clearly has no clue at all.

Anyone who did have the faintest clue would never have tweeted that.
