Batting fast =/= batting good. Overrated.
You'll probably find that batting fast is a sought-after skill in ODI cricket.

And the old AB only had to face a really weak era of WI quicks. Amrose, Garner, Walsh and that overrated hack Marshall. Pfft.
kyear2 and test cricketer like this.

FTR - as much as I love DeVilliers, the real AB would've averaged approx 80 in the modern era.

Incorrect. The real AB averages 52 in both Tests and ODIs.

Sure you're not getting strike rate and average mixed up?Because ARB might have struck at 80 against the windies attack.

People are actually using this performance against AB like he's Sangakkara. LOL, he's definitely made it.

Bashed a team down in the doldrums too hard. Big no no. Hundreds against Australia and respectable 50s against Bangladesh are how you become truly respected.
    Proudly supporting Central Districts

I tried to look up the cricketer formerly known as AB's Test strike-rate, but cricinfo haven't bothered to list it. File it under negligible, I guess.

I mean seriously, lets not pretend that AB isn't the meanest blocker of a cricket ball around when playing for a draw. Longest test innings without a boundary in history.
