No. Richard is responsible for his theories. His parents are responsible for him.

But enough about Richard's parents...

I heard that wisden has some system where they literally work out the greates test innings by taking into account opposition, conditions etc, is this true, if so which innings did they rate as the best?

I have read so many articles about this 337 inning played by Hanif Mohammad . It was really a great innings . I think it was considered to be the best inning under pressure of all times . I saw some pictures and read some material of that particular match . The spectators were stunned and I believe it was the highest score scored in the second inning by an individual . I am not sure it stands now or not ..

I guess Zimbabweans should have got test status at that time . Am I right or Wrong ?

Bradman's 270 in the 3rd test vs. England at Melbourne, 1937. Aus were 2-0 down in the Ashes, Bradman came in with the score at 5/97 in the 2nd innings (he put tailenders up the order so that the pitch would be dry when he came in) and shared a (record, I think) 346-run 6th wicket stand with Jack Fingleton. Bradman made 270 off 375 balls, Fingleton made 136 and Aus ended up with 564, enabling them to bowl out England and win the match. They then won the next two tests to take the series 3-2, the first and only time a team has come back from 2-0 down to win.
2nd on the list is Lara's 153* vs Aus, when WI won by 1 wicket.

I'm pretty sure the greatest ranked ODI innings was by Viv Richards in the WC semi-final or something. As I recall, WI were up the creek without a paddle, he came in, smashed a hundred, got them a total and they won. As I said though, this is all from my memory, which isn't that great. Although if I do recall correctly without the Master Blaster they would have made less than 100.

Yep you're right :) . It was by Viv against England in 1984 (not WC though), WI had collapsed... 2/11... 4/63... 7/102... 9/166... with Viv scoring just about all the runs. Then he added 106 for last wicket with Holding (who scored 12) to take WI through the full 55 overs. Viv scored 189* off 170, 21x4 and 5x6. :)

Ponting's 140* in the WC final was 2nd. Kapil Dev's 175* and Lara's 169 were up there too I recall.
