I understand there is a fraction of a toss to be given about this series, but if you do happen to be watching for some reason, we may as well have a place to post about it

Early wicket for Finn in the warm up. Less enthused to see Woakes opening from the other end, he really ought to not be in any World Cup plans.

4 games at the Premadasa, why does it always get the bulk of the games?

It's the only floodlit ground in Colombo as far as I'm aware, that's probably part of the reason.

Every ODI series until the WC has some relevance, from a SL point of view this series is actually pretty crucial, we need to get guys back into form and into a good mindset before we go off to NZ and then onto the WC, same with England really

Stokes and even Jordan > Woakes as a batsmen and bowler in the format. I really don't see the point of him playing.

I generally get more interested in standalone ODI series tbf. Also I miss us playing cricket. So I welcome this series and will no doubt be sick of it in no time

Ali getting Chandimal at home is a major scalp for him.

I note with some pleasure the return of Kandamby to Sri Lanka colours, still bravely representing fat cricketers on the international stage

Has to be one of the more pointless tours of all time...particularly taking into account that it's not gonna be in conditions particularly similar to what one would see in the World Cup.

Ali has 3-27 off 8 against the top six

I dunno if it's been said but I reckon he is a perfectly decent bowler

Hales is a ****ing gun, at least from what I've seen in T20s.

I'd give Hales an extended go and play Moeen at 5.

People have **** on the England batting for a long time but it's only relatively recently that it's actually been poor. And it's not so much 'intent' or whatever that means but because established players like Trott and Morgan have either literally or figuratively left.

good performance from England so far..This is a fairly strong A side from us, my only query is, unless he is injured, how does Tharanga go from being captain of the A team in the last series to not being selected in the next series?Kaushal Silva is better suited to the longer format of the game so not sure whyheis playing here..
