Nah, not some 'import' thing (though iirc he has a bit of experience playing in NZ that has certainly helped him). More along the lines of him being backed as the next big thing in Hong Kong cricket since he was 16, and given he's probably got more experience than the rest of the team already, making him VC is thoroughly unsurprising.

My comment was more along the lines of "Chapman being appointed VC is actually far less interesting than it would appear based on Slippah's description, especially if you follow HK cricket".

ACC DEMERGER IN RESPONSE TO ICC RESTRUCTURING
Why will it be affected? The demerger is ICC actually trying to take a step forward.

Good Question. The new ICC Regional office and staff will need the funding , resources and political will to match ACC's recent efforts at age group level.ACC was an Asia based, self funded organisation with a clear regional focus. It was producing results.

Existing ICC Regions PR and performance has had mixed reviews. A lack of information in the information age

See the tournament page of ACC Tournaments ACC start international competition at U - 16 level. Previously it was U-15. Vital for an Associate like HK who has no quality cricketing neighbour(s) to play against at junior level. ACC provided an automatic pathway for talent ID and player development in HK as well as Coaching input and Mentoring. For example Roy Dias enjoyed remarkable success with Nepal at U 15 and U 17 level a decade ago.

Will ICC organise and fund a womens tournament featuring the Asian countries here ?

    ACC Women?s Premier 2014

ICC do a great job at Full Member and Mens and U 19 level and their WCL structure is excellent.

But success in sport begins with Juniors at development level. At the T20 WC Qualifier next month , of the 14 countries , 5 are from ACC's Region. Many of these players will have used the player pathways created by ACC.A job well done I suggest.

    Last nail in the coffin

It's almost confirmed now that 10 teams will be playing next WC thus leaving associates with little to no hope for participation. Dire.

There is a lot of justified angst from Associate Cricket supporters about their exclusion by ICC. But angst won't cut it. Last year the ICC Board was the subject of a takeover by the Big Three - CA, BCCI and ECB. It was in the nature of a corporate raid. Other Full Members, like minority shareholders , fell into line. In 2014 ICC ceased to be a pure sports administration body managing cricket globally for its members and promoting the interests of cricket worldwide. ICC is now a business, a corporate model designed to further the interests of its controlling shareholders, the Big Three. Consequently ICC has become less relevant to Associate and Affiliate stakeholders and vice versa. That was made clear by the Big Three a year ago . They have control of the cash and will allow a few crumbs to drop from their table . Sadly the angst and the moaning will achieve nothing.

ICC T20 WC Qualiifier July 2015

It appears that Cricket Europe and Cricinfo, amongst others, have not been authorised to Live Score this event.

ICC have delegated/sold the tournament coverage rights to OPTA, part of the PERFORM Group.

    To quote Cricket Europe;

Unfortunately at the minute we (and Cricinfo amongst others) are being refused permission by the ICC to live score, or even provide a BBC/Guardian type update service from games at the T20 WCQ. We have appealed the decision - ICC are using OPTA for the competition as their official scoring partner.
CricketEurope will do what we can to provide a quality service - albeit with one and possibly two hands tied behind our backs.

So don't be surprised if there is no live coverage on Cricinfo !

Star Sports holds the TV coverage so can they live stream on cricinfo as an alternative as both are under the ESPN group ?

That would be great. But I can find no mention of Live ********* of tournament matches and LIVE TV coverage of selected matches only . If anyone finds a Live Stream feed ( or any Live Feed) during this July tournament could they please post the link(s) here. That would be appreciated.
