***Official*** West Indies in India 2014

Really hope the powerplay that has to be taken soon is used properly from WI, and not in the usual haphazard fashion that the majority of teams adopt. They're working their way into a decent position here, the last thing they need is five overs of madness.

Really hope this innings leads to Samuels getting back to somewhere close to his 2012 form. He's brilliant to watch and obviously has the ability to be an awesome batsman, has just never properly come together for him somehow.

Excellent batting powerplay from WI, the 52 runs from the five overs! Samuels onto 91 and now has absolute licence to play his shots. In a great position to put real pressure onto the hosts.

Nothing personal against the guy, but I'm glad Mohit is getting smashed, hopefully he gets smashed in future games as well, no way can we take him to Aus/NZ for the WC, he's simply not good enough.

Think West Indies have missed a trick in the last 5 overs or so. Might lead to the evergreen 15-20 runs short comment in the presentation.

A very good score for WI and gives their bowling attack more than a little something to bowl at. Crucial partnership between Ramdin and Samuels, the innings only slightly marred by the lack of fireworks towards the back end of the innings from the likely candidates like Pollard, Russell and Sammy, but that can happen when they come in and try and tee off straight away.

Cannot say enough about Samuels today, he looked in control and unflustered throughout while peppering his favoured areas with an array of crisply struck drives and exposed the point/backward point area that Dhoni packed but without any sweepers for cover in the last 10 or so. Even when there was a boundary rider Samuels waited nicely to ensure he could get it fine enough. Ramdin ticked it over very nicely while he was there and they played good positive cricket during that vital period.

Early wickets now the key for WI.

Majority of the Indian cricket 'fans' don't really care about cricket unless its IPL, a world event of some sort, or India vs Pak/Aus/England in ODIs/T20s. With that they have enough to keep them excited, the rest are just unimportant series that act as a training ground for main matches in their view. Check scorecards and highlights now and then, make an FB status if some world record is broken, and move on with your life.

And Tests aren't important at all, especially given how bad India have been at them recently.
I don't know why you put 'fans' in quotes because you know, English cricket 'fans' only really care about Ashes.

This is one of those things which sounds great in your head until you actually try to come up with examples and you suddenly find they don't exist.

This is what happens to India when Dhoni gets out cheaply. He's single handedly the reason for most of their chasing successes.
