Just out interest, how many would go to a Test match at the major West Indian grounds these days? And how would that compare to the glory days?

Ticket prices have decreased, but the attendance is nothing like the old days. T20's though are well attended.

He did raise a valid question in his most recent rant. Where were for instance all the well wishers in the 90s bemoaning the need for a strong England? Why are the West Indies so precious?

The way played the game. Attacking cricket, be it with bat, ball and in the field. Australia being similar, and South Africa now, just not quite to the same level.

Because a strong wi means longer test series and larger crowds at cricket stadiums. When wi were good they consistently got 5 tests vs eng and Oz and occasionally 5 vs India etc. England regardless will always command attention after all they did invent the sport and they r the home of cricket. WI filled stadiums more so a strong wi
