Nice article and I hate to be picky but national pride forces me to say Goofy Lawrence played his 5 tests and took his 28 test wickets against NZ.

As for Norman Gordon; what stamina. Incredible effort to bowl so many overs on those roads. Translated onto to fairer pitches his average may have been 10 - 15 runs a wicket fewer.

Being a sad bastard I had at least heard of all these guys, bar Punjabi, so I looked him up in an Indian book that has pen portraits of all their Test players - seems he wasn't too popular - implication was that he made Trevor Bailey look like a dasher!

Not heard of anyone bar Chris Adams, George Bailey, and Jack Iverson. Feel daft. Well done on the scouring David
