Is anyone else slightly concerned that the captain Arun Finch may have a strong T20 and ODI campaign and will stick around with the Test squad?

I also think we missed an opportunity to trial another keeper in the short formats once again. I actually can't fathom that we don't have any sort of plan in place to takeover from a guy who is almost 37 and lets face it, isn't an especially excellent T20 player.

To me it seems like they want to have one keeper across the formats, at least as much as possible. They don't think they know who that next guy is at this stage and so are waiting for more evidence, especially since it's pretty apparent Haddin wants to play on through the World Cup and probably the Ashes. Gives them an extra 10 months or whatever to work it out. I actually think it's a solid strategy.

Obviously could backfire and Haddin could get hurt without time to fly in a specialist, but you're never really going to take 2 keepers for a pretty short tour so you'd basically be in that position anyway.

I know Hads has just had an extended break but when is his next rest going to be and what is the purpose of picking him in our T20 team? I would prefer to see Sam Whiteman get rewarded or even someone like a Ben Dunk who is a quality T20 player in our squad as surely Haddin retires from the shortest format after the ODI World Cup.

Basically, I don't get why having one keeper across the format is needed, when we have different captains, opening batsman, opening bowlers, all rounders, spinners..

If he gets the gig, no way is O'Keefe not going the distance.
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup.
But he's striving and driving and hugging the turns.
And thinking of someone for whom he still burns.

Can Arun keep? He could fill the opening bat, keeper and bowler spot Wade vacated.

They better not be toying with me selecting O'Keefe. If he doesn't get a chance I'll be pissed off. I've been calling for him to get a chance for years now. It's tough now though because Lyon has done so well he deserves his spot too.

Surely in the UAE there'll be a pitch that offers up two spinner possibility

How has O'Keefe only played 41 first class games so far?
His debut was 2005 but his second match was November 2009 so less than 5 years ago.

In the gap between matches:
2006 MacGill was the main spinner with limited support from Casson and Hauritz.
2007 Casson took 29 wickets, MacGill 14
2008 Hauritz was the main spinner with Casson next in line.
