ChePu is the same age as Kohli and has arguably accomplished as much in Tests.

If Kohli gets to be in the fab 4 then ChePu needs to get in to make it a fab 5 (tests only that is)
Nah, Kohli's has a far superior overseas record. Could change if ChePu guns it on the upcoming tours though.

If Rahane wasn't a complete spud against spin, he'd be the best.

This thread's time is up unfortunately. It wasn't the Fab 4 or Big 4 or whatever variant you want to call. It's over. End this thread. It wasn't really 4 for quite some time until Kohli the Test batsman finally showed up in the 2016 season. But then, just when we thought okay finally we have the full quartet, Smith decided to leave.

If we are talking tests, Smith does not belong in the same conversation as Kohli, Root and Williamson. If you disagree, you are wrong.

De Kock though, out of the picture when Crowe made his statement, is set to join the other three. Honestly the bloke could go on to be better than Gilchrist.

Talent wise he is, but far less pressure with the bat than the other 4 when you're keeping and have the freedom to play your natural game at 7. I think he's as valuable as the others don't get me wrong, but apples & oranges isn't it?

de Kock could arguably be considered the most valuable of the lot

What about KL? Has 100s in WI, SL, Aus etc and seems comfortable on tricky pitches. Him and QDK are part of the next set (under 25).

Recently QdK has been coming in to dig them out of a hole though, so there's a different pressure. I also reject entirely the idea that keeping makes batting any easier.

It's very difficult to compare someone batting at 7 with someone batting at 3 though, I agree.

What's going on here? Do you call KL KL because it avoids a confusion with Rahul, who is rightly assumed to be Dravid because he came first? Is that what's going on?

Didn't saying keeping made it easier, just that keepers get a little more slack to play their natural game than specialist bats. The bigger point was what you agreed with.

His name is Rahul.. The K would be his family name and Lokesh would be his dad's name if i understand south indian naming conventions correctly
I understand that, I mean name in the sense of what will be written in his documents or whatever, my surname is just my family name, that doesn't mean it's not "my" name,
