**Official** Bangladesh in the West Indies

Umm no, Gabriel had his chance already.
Nah I don't think he fully blew his chance against New Zealand tbh.

A lot of the Bangladesh bats still have fond memories of Jamie Siddons, who taught them that deferring to a big man's short stuff all day is for losers. They'll see this pitch as an easy-paced road, so they'll probably get into a pissing contest with Gabriel here and he'll take a haul, imo -

Pitch is good for batting. Don't understand why West Indies don't produce lively pitches these days even against weak teams like Bangladesh. They should've been well aware that Bangladesh can bat for draws now on such type of pitches. They drew 4 test matches since 2012 against the likes of Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

Well done to Brathwaite on his first double ton. It may have come in the typical slow way that he likes to go about things, but his concentration levels at 21 yrs old is to be commended.

This is probably the worst test bowling attack ever - Al Amin, Rubel, Hom, Mahmudullah and Taijul lol
Yeah its definitely up there for worst ever. There is no way to hide against this fact as none of the bowlers average under 47 which is so woeful.

This Rubel guy who has played 20 test matches and bowled more than 3000 deliveries has a bowling average of well over 80 lol

Do the Bangladesh management even look at the stats?

The guy that scored the 200 congrats to him but with that technique he will struggle against South Africa especially in their pacey conditions.

First class average isn't much better (64), pace bowling stocks in Bangladesh must be dire. It will be a very long time before they win a test in Aussie, England, SA or NZ.

Where the **** is Robiul?

Oh and this not picking Shakib thing is madness. Ego be damned, you can't leave out your best player -- especially when he's basically worth 2 men to your side.

Al Amin was always going to be picked on form and apparently Rubel outbowled Robiul in the warm-up so with a two spinner attack being preferred Robiul missed out, complete joke though

Its a ****ing joke. They just aren't getting better, drop them down and make associates cricket stronger.

Rubel Hossain has the worst average of any bowler with 20+ wickets. 84.76

Bit rough on Chanderpaul, they could of given him another 2 sessions to get the 15 required for his ton.

How bad has Tamim become now? He looked like the only genuinely good top order Bangladesh have ever produced a few years ago.

Anyway, I'm calling a Mominul ton

Bangladesh just have no heart. Apart from Shakib beating us in some ODIs what have they done? They always seem to produce players who you think could be the goods but only Shakib, Tamim and Rahim have ever delivered anything. Zimbabwe have so many internal issues and players leaving for England or elsewhere yet they've recently beaten Pakistan in a test, held their own against SA, pushed NZ close and have had some good ODI showings as well.

Such a shame Bangladesh will survive long term and Zimbabwe will crumble sooner or later due to said issues.

Tamim is lazy and disinterested. His body language speaks for itself. This guy keeps on regressing everytime he plays now. His average keeps going down. People criticize the team but really the criticism should go to their corrupt board who doesn't do anything to improve its Cricket. A lot of the players in the Bangladesh side are actually street cricketers and can at best cope against club-level sides. There are no proper cricketing system/schools in Bangladesh. They have exciting young talents in Anamul, Mominul and Taskin but far too early to judge whether they can become big as Shakib who clearly is the only high-quality and professional player Bangladesh has in the side.

I honestly think Afghanistan would be better in most conditions.

Bangladesh need a domestic overhaul so that they can actually produce fast bowlers.

How the **** was Hom not first picked 4 years ago?
He's never quite been one of the best batsmen in the country and only became a serious bowling option pretty recently. Blokes who bat in the lower middle order and bowl decent spin are the one area of 'strength' Bangladesh have, too. He's been slightly unlucky but not quite as much as it seems.

hom should have been given more chances when he got his ODI call up in 2011, they should have recognized his batting talent then. his bowling has come on a bit in the last year though so now he's being considered as an all rounder and not just a batsman.

Is this all true? Sorry for doubting you but we hear a lot about their first class cricket comp so even the guys who learned on the street would have been playing good cricket from 17/18 years old? I guess I believe you but it disappoints me that there at least is no high school cricket in the better schools.
