It's the foreign coach , stupid !

Succinct and to the point. Conveniently disregarded Dhoni's batting though which was poor. Had to acknowledge that he actually dug in with the bat with the **** surrounding him.

But overall I agree. Dhoni isn't solely to blame. But he is a part. The BCCI, the players and the coach are also to blame. It's a collective ****-up.

It's Ian Chappell ffs. Don't expect any considered analysis coming out of that pen (let's face it, he ain't typing because back in his day everybody wrote by hand).

Whilst Dhoni did better than expected with the bat lets not pretend he was fantastic. He averaged 34.90, which is ok and compared to the rest of the line up pretty good but its not like he was Dravid 2011 is it.

Yeah but the criticism around the Indian batting hasn't been that they didn't perform. It has been that they stopped giving a ****. You can't say that of Dhoni.

Low bar? Sure. But whilst it is easy to pot Dhoni as he has been at the helm of the two poor England tours, the rest of the batsmen who did not dig in need to accept responsibility too.

No one's saying it was. But by his standards overseas in swinging conditions, it was close to something miraculous.

True. His shot in the 2nd dig at Old Trafford was disgraceful though.

His point about Dhoni affecting the slips was good analysis imo

In the kingdom of the blind the one-eyed man is king and all that.

Lets not forget that Dhoni in the second half of the series almost always came in the middle of a collapse when the ball was still swinging big, and scored most of his runs trying to protect tailenders.

and absolutely true.

The difference in Ross Taylor's slip catching since Watling took over the gloves has been night and day. I don't think he's dropped one since the change over.
