New Zealand 'A' Tour of U.K., 2014

Quite amazing how few List A games Brownlie has played. 35 games (and 8 of them on this tour). Scored his first 2 career List A tons on this tour.

Must have kept missing Ford Trophys while in the test squad?

You would have to assume that Brownlie is working his way into pole position for that second opener's spot. An early season hundred for ND should be all he needs to lock it up.

Are we talking Tests or ODIs? Either would seem unlikely IMO.

Anyway, pleasing to see that Henry's strong returns are continuing, and Bracewell's doing all right too. Even Bennett seems to be holding his body together.

Had to get this from Kent's website in the end. They did this at the lunch break (when they were all hopeful) so there's no 2nd innings.

People talking about the burgeoning depth of New Zealand cricket today, so it's having some excellent PR outcomes for an A tour. Much better than the depressing Pallekele jungle, with monkeys rooting on the hotel roof all the time.

Everybody's favorite cricketer is captaining tomorrow. Yep, you guessed it:

11. J Dernbach (c)

was just about to ask, why is Latham keeping?

Surely Watling is the reserve keeper batsman for the world cup?

Maybe they just want to give BJ a rest.

actually I don't even understand why Watling and Latham are playing. They're already in the test team.

Should be Ronchi and another opener.

Henry has gotta be in the next test squad.

I'm somewhat concerned about Watling not getting a proper rest. We can't afford for him to be overworked.

Oh there's a very light summer ahead for Watling. His January to May will have lots of ND fixtures in it.

Yeah you'd want to bring Matt Dunn out for some NZ domestic play, if you could. Mesomorph, doesn't take a backward step.

I hope Todd Astle got enough overs in his club/2nd XI stint. To make his trip worthwhile. Because so far in the token FC leg of this tour he has had one over. With only one potential innings left.

Yeah, Dunn can bowl.

Henry WAFG. Too good to not play Tests imo. Screw Wagner, screw balance. Gotta pick Henry.
