Shabbir is a chucker

Shabbir again cited

Man, now they have 2.

Why has this taken so long to be reported? He obviously had chucked since the 1st Test.

And like ever, they won't do anything about it like they did with CHucktar.

Shabbir Ahmed reported for throwing

Wisden Cricinfo staff
January 17, 2004

Pakistan fast bowler Shabbir Ahmed has been reported to the International Cricket Council for having a suspect bowling action.

Shabbir was cited by the Darrell Hair and Billy Bowden, the two umpires, after they reviewed footage of his action taken during the fifth and final ODI between New Zealand and Pakistan at Wellington on Saturday. Chris Broad, the match referee, informed the ICC and the Pakistan management of the findings.

"The umpires asked to review footage of Ahmed's action from the match and after seeing this footage decided to report the bowler to the ICC," explained Dave Richardson, the ICC's general manager. "This issue now comes under the ICC's regulations dealing with this matter and over the next six weeks Ahmed and the Pakistan Cricket Board will have the opportunity to work on any areas of concern. Ahmed will be able to continue to play during this time."

There now follows a two-stage process. The first stage, which Shabbir is now under, allows him to continue to play international cricket while working with specialist advisors to be appointed by his home Board and a human movement specialist from an ICC specialist panel to review his bowling action. This stage will last up to six weeks, and at its conclusion a report will be sent to the ICC. No further report can be lodged within this six-week period, however, the bowler remains subject to being "called" on the field by an umpire in accordance with the laws of the game.

If, after the first stage expires, Shabbir is called again then he has to appear in front of a formal hearing of the ICC's Bowling Review Group (BRG) and he would face a 12-month ban.

Brilliant, great way to make friends calling my F-Cricket young bowler a chucker! As for Shoiab, if you think he chucks, check the slo-mo, it's plainly obvious he doesn't!

So your open to the fact he may not actually throw then

Remember they only reported him for a possible problem, it's not been confirmed yet.

Shabbir has already spent 2 years out of the game because he was cited 3 years ago for a suspect action.

Kyle Mills has yet to be cited so obviously there is no problem with his action.

Tim, Mills looks like he has changed his action, and it looks better now.

Shabbir and Shoaib have been cited numerous times now. Shabbir in his first Test and Chucktar, well we all know. They have been reported and convicted as chuckers.

Convicted is such a harsh word! Seriously Ahktar was never proven to be a chucker and I doubt he ever will again, quite simply because he doesn't, it's a hyperextention. Shabbir hasn't been "convicted" or "proven" of anything, he's just been reported for a suspect action, nothing has been proven at all...

Well, what's the difference in someone having been reported for 2+ times and someone who has none then?

Shoaib definitely isn't a chucker although I used to think he was, I can't tell whether he's changed or if I have.

My Dad reckons Shabbir is a chucker, but I've watched him on slow-mo a 1000 times this series and stil don't reckon he is.

The only chucker atm is Vaas:P

The umpires want an in depth look into the bloke who's been reported.

However if this in depth look proves nothing (as it has in Akhtar's case) - there's no difference whatsoever.

Shabbir lookes so impressive vs India and then he missed out so much coz of the chucking thing. I hope he doesnt miss a lot now..

Let's suffice it at this: those who accuse Shoaib of chucking don't know what they're talking about, and I've never seen Shabbir Ahmed so I'll wait until either I do or the scientists have their take on it.

Have India played him? I don't think so. He first played in the toronto cup vs WI.

Ah okay. I saw him play in Toronto and it was always India vs Pakistan in Toronto except that year. So got confused.

Is any fast bowler safe these days!?

The thing about 'chucking' is that it is never conclusive. The clearest example of this was when Lawson bowled against Australia last year. From front on it looked like a definate chuck, but from side on it didn't look like a chuck.

Far, far too many people are too quick to assume that because something looks like a chuck from one angle, it must be.
Shoaib and Kirtley especially suffer from that.
Any look at the right angle clears both of them completely for those who read the Laws.
If you look at enough angles and certainly if you use scientific analysis, you will find that the problem of chucking is massively overblown.
There are very few bowlers like Chuckera who are blatant chuckers, clear from all angles, and IMO we should be very careful about accusing anyone who isn't.
