I used to love Mickey, not sure if he has gotten worse or I've just wised up on the game and realised he's a twit.
I still like him. Not as much as Atherton & Hussain. But imho he is lot better than Warne or Botham.

Anyway, for now he's been replaced by the Real Sociedad corner kick training specialist........

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but looks like Woakes has gained a yard of pace.
Has anyone told them that a yard isn't a measure of speed?

My favourite Michael Holding rant was when in a Test match a couple of years back, someone set a gully (methinks a relatively standard fielding position). He must have ranted for about 10 minutes about how pointless gullies are in the modern game and that no catch had been taken there for decades. Only for a catch to go to gully fairly soon thereafter, unfortunately after his commentary stint had ended.

Earlier this test Strauss showed a pic with Woakes of old's and New Woakes' deliveries simultaniously. It was good see that the slower delivery actually had a yard to travel, whereas the faster delivery had arrived at the crease.

I like the phrase 'gaining a yard of pace' from a linguistical point of view. Otherwise it is bollocks. People using wrong units of measurement usually annoys the crap out of me.

Remember when Philander arrived in England averaging 12 and was moving every ball a foot and Holding was telling us he shouldn't be opening the bowling because he wasn't one of South Africa's two quickest bowlers? Good times.
