Good. Seems to be trying to gaslight the entire cricketing community into doubting the reality of their own memories. Would assume that formal charges indicate there's sufficient evidence for a conviction, which is good as was looking quite like Cairns would walk away from all this without penalty.

If John Key can charm a whole country into not believing/caring that he is a crook, there's no reason why Cairns can't charm a jury.:(

"The five-year ban is dated from August 13, 2013. The last two years are suspended subject to his participation in a BCB or ICC anti-corruption education and training programme. "Upon production of a certificate of good conduct from ICC", a BCB release said, he will be eligible to return to cricket "on or about August 13, 2016".

This is a throw away comment so don't take me to task on it as I am only semi serious - his case of match fixing is arguably worse than any other case because by throwing games he has cost Bangers many opportunities to have more tours and more games. By losing so much people decided that they wouldn't play them that often. Again don't debate the letter of the law with me that the Windies just finished a series against them, the length of series people play against them is usually short and sharp and only a handful of nations will give them a game in part due to the legacy of losing that they have (which he helped prolong). He damaged his nation's cricketing future.
