Sadly short test careers...

paulted

School Boy/Girl Cricketer
Stuart Law, a mighty fine player-One test - 54 not out, then dropped for a returning Steve Waugh.

Migara

Cricketer Of The Year
Jayananda Warnaweera. Wish he had a better temperament. Would have lasted few more years and would have played bucket load of tests if he did so. The right handed Underwood, with lot more turn.

BoyBrumby

Englishman
Archie Jackson must have the most heartbreaking story attached to his truncated test record.

Also any number of SA players from the 60s: noteably a couple of Pollocks (arf), Richards & Barlow.

God threads like these make me so sad. Jeez imagine SA in the 70s-80s vs the WI. Would've been a hell of a rivalry.

Slifer

International Captain
Collie Smith, Wayne Daniel, Sylvester Clarke, Colin Croft, Charles Davis, Manny Martindale etc. As far as the RSA team of the 80s yeah, they would've made on hell of a rivalry with the WI up until the early 1980s, thereafter RSA were a spent force.

Imagine how well Stuart Law would have slotted into the middle order of our current day team. As would have someone like Jamie Siddons.
