Partition was so ****. Robbed us of a great team. Instead both countries will forever have holes in batting and bowling.

Would be great if Bangladesh was still part of India too so Shakib "grab my nuts" Al Hasan was playing too.

He's been involved in 53 other test matches, majority of which he has performed terribly in.

Tbf we have had some very good batsmen over the years. Our batsman drought hasn't been like your bowlers drought.
And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

we have had our own share of Ishant Sharma's. Before every squad announcements I always dread the return of Faisal Iqbal and Imran Farhat can't believe these two hacks have almost 70 tests in between them.

Of course we have had our fair share of Sharmas too (doesn't Sami average like 50 or something ) and we had some awful batsmen over the years epitomized by the nepotism beneficiary faisal iqbal but we have also had Zaheer Abbas, Hanif, Miandad, and Inzy over the years. India doesn't have anyone of note other than Kapil

Yeah but somehow we're the better team.

Edit: I see you're going back to Hanif etc. I just more meant recently.

For ODIs, MSD is the correct person to lead the side, the only thing which is irritating is his biased selections which can be damaging in the long run. For tests, we need someone who is pro active and aggressive like Gambhir, Kohli is too immature and too self obsessed to be a captain. MSD doesn't even deserve to be in the test squad when we have Dinesh Karthik who is technically sound with the bat and an equally good keeper.

Kohli's presser today seemed pretty mature actually (perhaps by his standard)

As for Sharma, sorry but he's the only Indian bowler outside of Khan who has consistently managed to take wickets away from home and trouble good batsman. Shami looks highly promising but India don't have better seam options than Sharma at the moment in test cricket. Quite simple. Rahane has a couple of good performances but has hardly set the world on fire and you seem to think that Dhoni is the reason behind the squad being selected the way it is - doubtful, he'll have a lot to do with the playing 11 but not the squad selection.
Im sorry but everything in the second paragraph is unbelievably wrong.
Ishant has been the most staggeringly bad overseas bowler in the side apart from this NZ series. Hes been far worse than Zaheer, Praveen, Shami, Yadav in most overseas tours in the last 2-3 years.
Then we have promising bowlers like Dhawan, Pandey, Pankaj waiting in the wings and you say we have no one to replace him?
Rahane has done about as much as is humanly possible for a youngster on his first tour to SA, NZ against quality lineups.

    Just so wrong

Saurav Ganguly makes a sly reference when discussing Tendulkar's captaincy:

"Sachin was a better captain than his results show and better than people make him out to be. He led on some very tough tours - South Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka and Australia - and it must be said he didn't lose eight in a row. This when he didn't have a very good team around him. The older players were fading and the newcomers were too raw,"
