2004 Carib Beer Cup

As I said before, Maurice Odumbe seems to be making a name for himself out there. If Kenya played tests, Im sure he would be a star, but in ODIs, when Kenya get off to ectremely slow starts, he often needs to have a whack, and he gets out. He is also a very accomplished off spinner. BTW, who is West Indies B, what makes up the team?

The 'B' team is made up of Under-21's (I think) and cotains talented players such as Ramdin, Ramdass, Washington, Bennett, Sealy.

Dwayne Bravo 197. Bennett 5/113 (?).

Tino Best 7/33. Pedro Collins 3/23.

Sylvester Joseph 103 not out at tea.

Some encouraging performances in the Carib Beer Cup today.

Best, Bennett and Bravo have certainly been the most encouraging performers this season with regard to potential Windies prospects.

Given the performances in South Africa and the current injury list, I would think that Best and Bennett have every chance of featuring in the England tests. Bravo must be a decent outside bet for a test debut this season and a fairly certain 1-day squad member at least.

Added to the fact that the Leeward Islands bowling is rather poor. No comment on the Kenyans though.

Reports are that Jermaine Lawson's action is still not legal according to the ICC. Also, he complained of back pains during Jamaica's prep for the Carib Beer Cup, but no significant injury has been detected to date.

Appears to be very little prospect of him featuring in the home series this season. Any news on Jerome Taylor? He would be an almost certain starter for the England series if fit.

Jerome Taylor and Daren Powell will both be returning from injury to play for Jamaica in their Round 3 set. Good news.
