Tait Takes 8

Shaun Tait has just taken 8 wickets in an ING Cup match for South Australia - 8/43 infact.

He's getting close to Australian selection now IMO.

Well I read an article with Trevor Hohns where he said the selectors were seriously considering new pace options at the moment.

Taking 8/43 may or should put him in the drivers seat to replace any bowler should they get injured in the VB Series.

Amazing:wow:

Nice to see I havent just been talking him up for nothing then

ATM he's bowling quicker than Lee by some margin , his seam position is superb & he can swing the new & old balls both ways , his control still leaves a little to be desired & he bowls as many no balls as Brett Lee , but if Australia find the going easy in the early part of the VB series then they might decide to give one or two of these young guys (North , Tait , etc) a run.

Certainly wont hurt his prospects of a plane ticket to Sri Lanka.

Correct , very similar to Shoaib Akhtar , a tiny bit more round arm.

He tries, but it's too early to think about giving up his day job
