Couple of shocks in the first set of games. A narrow win for Hong Kong over Scotland and PNG smashed the Kenyans.

Four matches already completed and two currently underway.. so I thought it was time for the thread. :p Ten teams competing for the final two spots at the World Cup, with Ireland and Afghanistan already qualifying and not playing this tournament.

Big upset a couple of days ago with Hong Kong beating Scotland, despite a blazing Mommsen hundred. Scottish limited overs cricket is complete toilet at the moment, can't help but more disappointed in Scotland falling away than be pleased for Hong Kong bridging the gap a bit. In other news, uvelocity's bois from PNG gave Kenya a hammering.

Namibia are currently in the process of smashing the Netherlands as well which would be regarded as a pretty big upset by many, but with Namibia fresh off cricket in the second tier South African domestic competitions and the Netherlands without Cooper, van der Gutgen and ten Doeschate, it was always a potential banana skin.

Hrmmm. A good few shocks early on here. Peter Borren not taking advantage of familiar conditions. Throws the qualification door wide open.

Namibia beating the Netherlands was always on IMO. Slightly surprised at just how easily they ran through the top order though.

UAE on their way to 2nd win, they we're tipped to qualify for the world cup.
Holland missing too many players.

Yeah it'll be slightly disappointing for the World Cup proper if the Netherlands don't qualify as they have the players to cause an upset or two at full strength.

PNG as expected have hammered Uganda.

Looks like Scotland should get back on the horse with a win over Nepal here; the Nepalese struggling at 85/4 chasing 250.

Honkers with a massive win over Canada today. They are looking likely to make it to the next round given Nepal's looked weak. Should be HK, UAE and Scotland from that group.

Namibia shaping up as another surprisingly strong team. Did it the hard way over Kenya but it could have just been a case of slow and steady of fast and risky.
