Back to Barnes for a minute - by his own admission Derek Underwood 'cut' the ball rather than spun it, and yet we don't mind classifying him as a 'spinner' despite bowling at medium pace as well,

Sydney Barnes put a lot more work on the ball than Underwood because mid-on and mid-off could apparently hear the crack of his fingers. If Underwood is a spinner then so is Barnes IMO. Just a deal faster when he needed to be.

Sorry about that, but we are down the pointy end of the Draft. How Macartney lasted into the 7th Round is a mystery to me. Actually "ummd & arrd" over him and Dexter for quite a while. Now I have both
BTW Just hope that Cabinet doesn't return, take several players in one hit, and really stuff everyone up.

Which just goes to show that Drafting is half-judgement and half-luck. It's a very unpredictable thing.Ummed and aahed over Wasim and Macartney for ages. He'd suit my team so well
On the bright side, Wasim does suit your attack, and it would have been a shame to miss out on him. You weren't to know.

More surprising was that Tayfield was still available. I'd have picked him instead of Ranji if he you didn't snap him up.
