Gavaskar on commentary rubbishing the idea that decisions even themselves out; good to hear. Hate it when that bull**** gets trotted out.

at least this means we're getting ishunt at the basin.

still worrying we've gotten genuinely out to him on a couple of other occasions.

Sigh. Martin Crowe arguing that umpires are more likely to give those these days because they usually have DRS to bail them out when they obviously **** up. Might have a point.

it's weird, he's actually an excellent commentator when he's working for Sky in NZ.

It's an apt saying over the course of a player's career, and maybe even over a long test series. But it's just stupid to say that decisions even themselves out over the timespan of an individual match.

baz loves his india. would love to know his career average against them because it must be getting close to being 10-15 above his career average. since india's last tour here he's really had zaheer and their spinners sussed.

really hope opwb puts the boot in here with baz and the tail.

It's also a convenient fiction for players to adopt, to ensure they don't get too wound up and spend too much energy on something that is outside their control.

At work, can someone please fill us in on the McCullum/Umpire interaction after that poor decision. Cricinfo seem to be suggesting Davis was not looking happy with Baz's reaction.

While I took a dig at his writing the other day, it's nice to hear Martin Crowe on the radio again. He had a horrible tendency to go over the top when he was working for sky, but he was always a good radio commentator. Wish he'd cut it out with the 300 predictions though.
I'm really enjoying Crowe on the radio too. He seems to have relaxed a bit and definitely helps that he doesn't feel the need to shout 'Holy Cow' every so often like on tv - he doesn't need to because he has a lot of interesting things to say and his general enthusiasm for the game comes through anyway. Personally I like his writing too.

he looked at him, shook his head like he couldn't believe it, but didn't say anything.

Nothing else happened.

It was an absolutely shocking decision.

Getting really tired already of these same Billy Connolly jokes in the radio breaks over and over again. Someone please pass a law making it illegal to play the same joke on repeat every 15 mins plz - gets my vote for the election.

Still bitter about ****y umpiring, especially with another wicket.

Now would be a good time for Southee to pull finger as a batsman - not difficult conditions and a fifty here would get us to 500, which is what we need.
