I think the latter officially counts as the highest scoring series of all time. So that's... something to be proud of?

apparently. In all seriousness though, I think batsmen scoring big does bring in plenty of usually uninterested into the grounds and watching on TV. Which hopefully is good for the game as a whole

That one had a few more runs due to all 7 matches being played, but the matches themselves weren't as high-scoring. Not as high a batting average or strike rate and no innings scores over 325.
