This Atul Sharma thing is never going to end. Was a nice marketing ploy by Mr. Pont to sell his book. Feel free to post all Atul Sharma jokes here.

And yes, Ian Pont has turned Simon Kerrigan into a tear away fast bowler. He was quite impressed with the pace which he bowled in the Ashes. Watchout for Kerrigan V.2. Even you can become a fast bowler(100mph), just buy Ian Pont's new book, "Fast Bowler's Cheat Sheet for Fat Lards"

Honestly it is crazy how people can be so critical of someone with an obvious passion for the game who works tirelessly developing and identifying talent.

There are just so many situations in sport where a athlete with some sort of x-factor or excitement for whatever reason fails and Atul didn't even fail at the first class level as he was never given the chance.

The original post in this thread contains an assertion about a member which is inappropriate and untrue. It does not reflect the views of CW and we in no way support the assertion in it. It's one thing to find the situation involving Atul Sharma's training regime or bad luck with injuries in some way humorous (no matter how distasteful that may be); it's another to suggest Ian Pont was not acting in the best interests of the player he was coaching.

The latter is unacceptable and posts along those lines will be deleted, as will this thread after this post has been left here for sufficient time for members to read and take its contents on board.

Apologies to Ponty for the comment in the OP, which will be removed ASAP, along with this thread.
