really dangerously close to making posts claiming north to being as worthy of being selected as bailey. since the 2010-11 seasons (ie last home ashes), bailey averages like 34 in the shield, with 4 tons and 5 50's. north averages like 33 in the shield, with 4 tons and 4 50's plus a 37* here! #comeonnorth

bailey didn't even have to face harris this morning, and got to last a hour before feldman came on, and still only made 40 odd runs #badderthannorth
Over 66.3: Feldman to Bailey, no run, OUT, fends away from his body and it takes an edge to Hartley! He pushed at it, the ball was rising slightly, and it took a deflection!
reminder that his first innings dismissal was
Over 99.1: Harris to Bailey, no run, OUT, good length outside off, pushing at the ball away from his body as he edges away to Hartley who takes a simple catch to his right.

That almost sounds like the exact sort of dismissal which I was saying was Bailey's red ball issue. Tassie seem to have been overly cautious against QLD, WACA vs SACA could end up an exciting finish.

Yeah and the worst part of Bailey's fencing is that he's vulnerable to it at any stage of his innings. I'd venture that a lot of his 50-90 scores he's been out that way. For the team, it's often a ****ing bad time to get out.
Personally, for the number 6, I'd be more inclined to see a bloke there who, when he gets going, is able to put the oppo to the sword well past 100. In good levels of cricket, it's not just how nor how many but when you score runs. Scoring 75 then getting out to, say, the second new-ball and leaving the tail vulnerable is not really doing your job. Would rather see Bailey at, say, 3 and leave 6 to someone who can wield the willow a bit and turn 4/200-odd into 5/350+.
