Englands Foreigners

So a guy that's talented enough to earn a six figure salary with a stable foreseeable future should stick to his ****ty underpaid job just because you squirm a little bit every time he puts on a jersey from a country that gave him another chance?
No; as I've said before I don't blame the players at all. I'd do the same thing in their situation.

Well I've said before that I view sport a lot differently. We all rightly criticise Ikki in the American politics thread for being too much of a idealogue and trying to apply one idealogy to every facet of life as if he's found the magic cure rather than examining the intricacies of each issue, so trying to paint me as some sort of hypocrite for not comparing apples and oranges is a bit harsh.
Maybe this is just your One Nation principles coming out, rather than you libertarian?

and yes I am never going to stop with the One Nation jokes, its one of the few things I have on you, as I think the whole young girl schtick is lame.

I actually thought of you when I saw how highly the LDP actually preferenced One Nation in the Senate. I then proceeded to vote below the line anyway and put a number in the 80s next to Pauline's name. Not putting her last probably still makes me a supporter in your eyes though. :p

Pauline Hanson's was the first box I wrote a number in - 110. Got to about 60 and couldn't decide which out of the socialists, racists or single-issue parties (oh and Fred Nile) were more dire

It's pretty funny how Libral voters are so stupid their volunteers had to instruct them that their Party wasn't number one on the NSW Senate ballot.

Even though the Party which was at number one on the ballot had a different name.

I am surprised ppl voted below the line this time.i just voted wikileaks :p,and trusted on their preferences.
BTW sorry about the jokes i just find that a county cricket comp with 80 foreigners playing as locals as just totally rediculous,it it was 4/5 then i'd go ok.Even in NZ its getting rediculous, any blowjob can get a position.

80, really?

Guess you're using an extreme definition of foreigners if you say it's 80, got a list of them?

That includes those playing for England, cause i consider them still foreigners. But its round 80,Stuart Poynter of Ireland just joined Durham a day ago.

I would imagine the Saffers prefer not to play in Australia on account of it being full of Australians, to be honest.

This whole foreign player debate makes me laugh. We are a nation that has welcomed immigrants for decades. Some arbitrary thing like where someone happens to be born is irrelevant, if they want to play for England and legally can then welcome aboard.
Yeah, Saffers hate living in Australia

So it's a load of bollocks then.

To prove that it's bollocks, you're claiming that Poynter's foreign. Born in Hammersmith and went to school in Teddington is not foreign.

Ok then smartarse, explain how someone who is born and schooled in England can be called a foreigner then?

Taking the cricket aside, I just don't think you can say in black and white what nationality someone is in a lot of cases. I mean I was born to two English parents, in England and have never lived anywhere else; it's an open shut case. Cousin of mine was born over here also to English parents. Moved to the states whilst still in single figures age wise, is a US citizen. Is he English or American? I reckon most people would lean to the latter but he is very proud to be English. What right does anyone have to argue?

I don't care for the specific arguments about x and y. It's a complex issue, especially in a country like England where multiculturalism is an essential part of the modern way of life. Anyone who's been to London, Birmingham or many other cities would know full well that Alastair Cook is far from your typical Englishman, there really is no such thing.
