Please be a no ball.

100 ODI wickets for the man. He's actually beaten Ashwin to it.

Jadeja really does strike me as a complete ****. There can't be a human being on earth who thinks well of him, surely?

First, let me say: great innings by Bailey, struck them well and passed every test. Can only deal with what's in front of you and he dealt with it very well.

Now, what will annoy me is that people are going to use this innings, like that have for his whole series, which has been fantastic, as a reason for why he should be in the test team (which he pretty much is guaranteed of IMO). If someone can show any parallels between his innings in the series and what he is required to play at test match level I'd be interested in seeing them, but really it's just been some really good hitting against some pretty rank bowling.
Yeah it is slightly crazy in some ways but the good thing with Bailey is that he has been around for quite some time on the domestic scene and is capable of making runs. Basically I'm so glad it is Bailey who has had this series leading up to a Test Series compared to say if Finch or Maxwell had it.

Probably better to chat about it a different thread but I'm still not exactly 100% convinced that the spot available is number 6 in our lineup. If it is, it helps Bailey heaps but the selectors could very well pick a number 4 and go 5 Clarke 6 Smith. With Siddle at 8 :)

Nah the top five will be the same as the one at the Oval IMO, barring something unexpected in one of the opener's spots.

Yeah I don't think there's any real parallels. It's just runs is runs, and he's scored so many, albeit in a different format and not against a real cricket team (I mean, three spinners in a one dayer is grounds for suspension - it's ****), that I don't think they can ignore it given there's no real stand out yet for the last batting spot. Plus he's actually a middle order player, not another opener. Plus he's right handed.

I think he'll get the gig, and he's in great form. Whether that will translate into test runs is another thing entirely.

I thought the bowling was ****house, so 350 might not really reflect the conditions properly, it actually looked a bit tough at times for the first 20 overs or so

Probably. But the whole Clarke performing at 5 thing and the fact that all of the other main options available would be better off at number 4 makes me think it isn't completely locked in. Basically you hear about Khawaja, Hughes, Marsh being the other candidates and I would hate any of them to bat at 6, They'd all be much better off in the top 4. I would pick Bailey ahead of them all.
