Finch has always been solid in one day cricket and terrible in FC though so I'm still on the fence on him being in the test side.

Although it was a good innings, I don't think V Kohli's innings was much better than Bailey's. Their strike rate was very similar and Kohli didn't come in under great pressure and it was a batter's paradise. Where India won it was restricting Australia to 66 runs after 15 overs. And for this reason my MOTM goes to B Kumar! I gave I Sharma a bagging before, but tbf his bowling was better than the majority of the Australians.

    Don't think so.
Rohit talent wise is probably one of the best batsmen in the world - his issues have always been more concentration related than anything else.

Dhoni is right in recognizing the gap in the middle order but his solution is wrong. Kohli is a solid middle order bat and we need one more. Gambhir played that role in the world cup. Raina, Yuvraj and Dhoni all play the finisher role. If one of them can change into a reliable #4, it is Dhoni and not Raina. Dhoni has done this before and fared very well.

    WTF just happened.

I could've scored runs against our attack it seems.

Kohli is obviously going to go down as one of the best ODI players of all time. Tour of England will be big for him, as he needs to prove he can score runs away from home.

Remarkable ODI, which I thought was going to follow the way the opening ODI went after Australia set another imposing total. I thought India bowled poorly in that first 50 overs, they didn't have the skills to follow the plans being set by Dhoni with a series of ill-advised short balls and a general lack of control and ability to land the deliveries accurately enough under pressure. Ishant Sharma bowled poorly again, he bowled five in his opening spell and I think he was fortunate to get away with what he did in the last two overs of that spell. It was a reasonable conclusion then to expect Australia's attack, after Pune, to make the home side's batsmen work much harder to chase that down, but the three batters required made it look a doddle.

While the Aussie attack looked as powder puff as India's, plenty of credit should be given to Sharma and Kohli who were absolutely outstanding. Yes it was a dream to bat on with a lightning outfield, etc, but they were sensational. Both are aesthetically beautiful to watch in these conditions and they played it close to perfection.

Shikhar Dhawan also played more than his part in the chase. He had a reprieve following Haddin's fumble, but he was very much the aggressor in an immense opening partnership.

The Aussie batsmen were also all in fine touch, George Bailey's hot streak continued and once again he looked a top ODI player.

It's a long series so it was no surprise to see both sides sticking with the same side in Jaipur, but surely changes have to made for Mohali with both sides leaking runs inexplicably at times.

Not unusual to get the runs in India.

Pretty sure Benchy received a tasting when he said Dhawan was going to score a 100.

    Oh and also.

Strike Rates from last nights game
    1. Kholi 192.30
    2. Bailey 184
    3. Maxwell 165.62
    4. Voges 137.50
    5. Sharma 114.63
    6. Watson 111.32
    7. Dhawan 110.46
    8. Haddin 100
    9. Finch 94.33
    10. Hughes 80.58

Probably one for Steven, but I wonder if there has ever been another completed ODI game (that wasn't shortened) where the lowest strike rate from a game has been so high? Usually you see a guy make a duck or a low 2 (4) or something, but yeah Hughes who's strike rate was easily the worst from last night still is pretty high generally.

Over 0.2: Putland to Nevill, OUT, no run, full ball swings in late to crash into his pads. Nevill is almost falling over trying to get bat on it but can't. Huge shout for LBW and Umpire Martell eventually raises the finger! P.Nevill - lbw b:Putland 0 (1 ball, 1 minute).

If Faulkner bowled 100 balls last night he would have gone for 142 runs. Impressive striking.
