So the coach doesn't believe in the rotation policy, none of the test players are going to be rested, but the coach himself is going to stay in Australia to 'refresh'. #BringBackMickey
They wouldn't want to piss off the BCCI by resting key players.

OTOH, It's a fine balance. They wouldn't want to pull a SA and actually be a good side.

A nicely contested but ultimately 5-2 win to India is what we're looking for here.

Should not have picked any player with even a remote chance of being selected for the first Ashes test
That would severely weaken the Ryobi Cup too. I don't have a problem with anyone in with a chance of playing the First Test playing in the first 4 or 5 ODIs. As long as they are available for selection in the 3 Shield matches starting Oct 30.

CA should have just agreed to a 5 match ODI series which wouldn't impact on our Shield season at all.

If the management consented to the scheduling of this cluster**** then I doubt they'd be smart enough to rest key players tbh

Apart from Watson, there's no one in the squad who is considered a certain or even likely 1st Test starter, is there? Maybe Hughes, or Faulkner if they continue down that path...

Unadkat will be one to watch. He's doing well in ODs, with a good strike-economy combo, but needs to get either aspect better just a bit. Not outright quick, but very tall, and gets good bounce, and moves it a little bit. He'll be very productive, if not lethal, on a green-top or hard-top, but on a featherbed, he'll get smashed around for Umesh Yadav economy rates and be lucky to get a wicket or two, and will keep a decent economy but struggle to chip on a turner. However, with Umesh being seen as a Test specialist, this bloke may be the man to turn to during limited-overs games. It just remains to be seen how much India's ODI side will miss Umesh on flat decks when they struggle to see off Johnson, Starc and Pattinson even as their own get whacked or patted around.

Oh man Lehmann not going is too good to be true.
This is a piss take, surely? I know he's unfit, but he's only been in the job three months. HTF do you need to rest up in those circumstances? He'd get more rest in a 5 star hotel in Mumbai than he would having to do the house work at the behest of his missus anyway. Stupid **** he is.

Make that Johnson, McKay (average of 22 in 50 ODIs squeezes to average of 18 against India, and he chips a lot of wickets against them) and River (although he's a little new, he seems to do well on flats).
