gonna make an actual prediction boi or just ones you can re-quote regardless of the result?

Probably better to chat about it a different thread but I'm still not exactly 100% convinced that the spot available is number 6 in our lineup. If it is, it helps Bailey heaps but the selectors could very well pick a number 4 and go 5 Clarke 6 Smith. With Siddle at 8
Nah the top five will be the same as the one at the Oval IMO, barring something unexpected in one of the opener's spots.

That sounds so weird like that. I can see India at 3.07 and Australia 1.38. Does your bank make 38% interest?

Over 0.2: Putland to Nevill, OUT, no run, full ball swings in late to crash into his pads. Nevill is almost falling over trying to get bat on it but can't. Huge shout for LBW and Umpire Martell eventually raises the finger! P.Nevill - lbw b:Putland 0 (1 ball, 1 minute).

Now, what will annoy me is that people are going to use this innings, like that have for his whole series, which has been fantastic, as a reason for why he should be in the test team (which he pretty much is guaranteed of IMO). If someone can show any parallels between his innings in the series and what he is required to play at test match level I'd be interested in seeing them, but really it's just been some really good hitting against some pretty rank bowling.
Yeah I don't think there's any real parallels. It's just runs is runs, and he's scored so many, albeit in a different format and not against a real cricket team (I mean, three spinners in a one dayer is grounds for suspension - it's ****), that I don't think they can ignore it given there's no real stand out yet for the last batting spot. Plus he's actually a middle order player, not another opener. Plus he's right handed.

I think he'll get the gig, and he's in great form. Whether that will translate into test runs is another thing entirely.

I thought the bowling was ****house, so 350 might not really reflect the conditions properly, it actually looked a bit tough at times for the first 20 overs or so

Probably. But the whole Clarke performing at 5 thing and the fact that all of the other main options available would be better off at number 4 makes me think it isn't completely locked in. Basically you hear about Khawaja, Hughes, Marsh being the other candidates and I would hate any of them to bat at 6, They'd all be much better off in the top 4. I would pick Bailey ahead of them all.

Dhoni has to come in at four, if India have to win. No point trying to groom youngsters when you have to win a series.
