Bloody hilarious ! Was waiting for the first comment.

In South Africa we have some classic names but our Zimbo mates often have the best. Best one yet for me still is 'Navigator'. You get the run-of-the-mill Doctor, Prince, Princess, Porsche, Happy, Lucky General etc

From what I've read and heard Brockley it seems McDermott & Doran are the one's to watch with the bat. Spinners seem worth an interested eye. To be honest don't know much about the seamers other than Fotia who has a good u19 record and heard decent things about Guy Walker but didn't play today.

From SA's perspective, pretty happy with the squad (possibly had 1 or 2 younger players in from the outside) but not the starting XI today. Not really keen on the 3 of the batsman in our top 7 today. Our strike-bowler Kagiso Rabada, who was involved with the Lions in pre-season got injured and didn't travel. Otherwise this group has played 6 ODI's and won all 6 after beating England 5-0 earlier in the year but foreign conditions of India was always a concern.

We have a few but not enough for a team, especially when the 3 mentioned fail, like the Aussie cricket team. That said i wouldn't be in S Africas' place when India cancel the tour to South Africa.

Surprised Ryan Burl and Malcolm Lake are playing in this series; word had it they were both starting university in the UK soon and were basically lost to Zimbabwe Cricket already.

And so Lake gets run out for 4 off 2 balls; needn't have bothered.

This tournament is extremely vital to teams like Australia and South Africa for prepping for next years world cup. I would assume slow and possibly turning wickets will be the order of the day in Dubai. Such foreign conditions to both nations. Will also help finding out who can cut the mustard and who possibly can't plus develop team combinations. I think South Africa got found out today in that they need a specialist spinner to face the Asian teams.

    Todays results -

Australia beat Zimbabwe by 147 runs

    Australia 329/3
    Kelvin Smith 139 (137), Damien Mortimer 79 (113) & Jaron Morgan 70 (34)
    Luke Jongwe 5 2-49

    Zimbabwe 182/10
    Joylord Gumbie 56 (60), Ryan Burl 44 (36) & Dylan Nel 32 (43)
    Tom Andrews 10 5-55 & Riley Ayre 6 3-37

India beat South Africa by 4 wickets

    South Africa 270/8
    Clyde Fortuin 90 (99), Lloyd Brown 69 (103), Brad Dial 35 (29) & Greg Oldfield 30 (21)
    CV Milind 10 3-52 & Abhimanyu Lamba 10 3-55

    India 275/6
    Sarfraz Khan 101 (66), Ankush Bains 94* (95)
    Justin Dill 8 2-34
