Cricket stuff that doesn't deserve its own thread

International Captain
It has to be said, Nathan Lyon's attempts at being a hard man are incredibly unconvincing. The guy looks like he works on a holiday camp, keeping an eye over the bouncy castle. Christ, it's one of the cringiest things in cricket at the moment.

There's often talk about whether the WIndies side of the 80s would be as good today and whether today's cricketers are actually better than those of yesteryear due to scientific advances. But then you actually watch the footage of those world destroying teams of the era and wonder if they would be even more dominant today. They were a well oiled machine that spat out pain and sorrow to all who stood before them, and would do so today if time had given them the chance.

They'd be perpetually switching captains to sort out the over rate though.
You don't need to worry about over rates if you blow the opposition away.

But yes, it's likely that they would have run a 3/1 quick/ spinner ratio and left out one of their ATG quicks.

Quaid-e-Azam trophy final is on, both teams have lined up with a Khurram Shehzad. Hoping for one to bowl the other
Something very similar actually did happen in the 1997-98 Sheffield Shield final. West Australian pacer Mark Atkinson had Tasmanian wicketkeeper Mark Atkinson caught behind by Gilchrist on 39

Gambhir's a prick at times but he's probably one of the very few who has the balls to say it like it is and call out Azhar for what he actually is and not buy the recent attempt to re-paint him as some sort of mistreated hero. WAG

No more 'heads or tails' - welcome to 'hills' or 'flats' in the Big Bash - ESPNcricinfo

There will be no more "heads" or "tails" at the toss in the Big Bash. Instead it's "hills" or "flats" as an Australian backyard tradition takes center stage.

The coin toss has been replaced by the bat flip, with the winner of the call begin decided by which side up the cricket bat lands.

On the backyards around Australia the favoured call is "hills" because of the natural tendency for the bat to rest on the flat side, but in order to retain the fairness in the Big Bash a specially modified bat has been made which, it has been assured, won't favour the call.
I've done this as a kid. Heh
