I don't remember Fulton looking awful against Swann or Monty either. :/ oh well will be happy regardless if he's still in when I get home in several hours.

Yes cricinfo commentary isn't very flattering on Fulton so far.

31/0 on the first morning of a test match usually considered a success by our standards though.

Nah Fulton looks fine IMO. Too much made of him going back to a relatively full ball. Yes it does bring LBW into play but he's still relatively comfortable. His plan B is to come down the wicket but he's fine as-is.

He's looks fine as long as he's just bunting the ball back to the bowler. As soon as he attempts a shot with any kind of run-making intent though he looks horrendous.

I think Fulton's run-scoring options against spin are to come down the wicket and/or hoick over cow corner, and he's pretty effective at both. The problem is that either would be rather irresponsible at the beginning of an innings. I think once he gets in things could start to get rather brutal.

Quoted for truth. Low and slow and Bangladesh went on the defensive with their field settings real fast. Will be interesting to see if it breaks up. That low bounce could be a worry as the pitch wears.

If Bracewell continues his back of a length experiment here he's handing his spot on a plate to Wagner or whoever. If he pitches it up though he has a tendency to find inconsistent bounce on NZ pitches so here he could be a real problem if one just rolls or shoots through.

That doesn't really demonstrate having an idea how to score against spin though; it's not about boundary releases.
