Tendulkar momentarily having the best strike rate in the innings.

If Royals win and Tambe does okay you'd think the nigh on 42 yo has the man of the series wrapped up.

Sanga isn't the best off spinner in the history of cricket? News to me.

Tambe's gotta win MotS surely. Conceded just 5 boundaries in the tournament, not a single six plus a bucketload of wickets. He's got to be doing something brilliant one would think

Every time Rohit Sharma hits a boundary, even if it's a bludgeoned mistimed hoick over midwicket the commentators go "This man is a glorious timer of the ball" Oh FFS

Another meaningless tournament, more IPL sides in the future?
Maybe 1 less Saffie and Aussie sides?
    Yes Tambe is 1 highlight.

It can't really be considered meaningless. Big crowds, lotz of sixerz, matches televised globally, new talent has emerged like Tambe and Neesham etc. Overall a decent enough tournament.

Is there any danger that the next generation will think that a top edged six to third man is as good as an inside out loft over the cover boundary or is there inherent beauty/ugliness in these shots?

I mean I grew up when Shastri was actually a decent commentator and one could actually hear about the skill in playing, say, a perfectly timed on drive - which doesn't actually look all that great but is so hard to get right.
