Somehwat ironically, India are genuinely short of a part-time bowler (spinner), at one point we had Yuvi, Sehwag and Raina who could all bowl, Pathan even for a short while, now they genuinely don't have one, Rohit sharma comes the closest, can't believe we've actually used guys like Raydu as part timers.
Yeah hadn't really considered this tbh

That Pujara has to make a mockery of himself to be considered for ODIs is really sad. Rather, the sooner India moves away from depending heavily on part-timers and tailoring their bowling strategy to protect them, the better. What happened to Rayudu could happen to any part-timer thrown in the heat- I remember Rahul Dravid opening the innings with Sehwag and closing the innings with Yuvraj- and we got those colossal 20-run and 30-run overs, which tell you the difference between a regular and part-timer.

He should make it as a specialist batsman alone, not a batsman who bowls utter rubbish occasionally.

Manoj Tiwary, once a spin prospect, is a better choice, who can also go full-time, and they can also get back Yuvraj/Yusuf, but let's not force Pujara into this.
