Who should open with astle? And your NZ team?

My thoughts are James Marshell, Fleming or Lou vincent.

Fleming has been tired time and time again and failed so I wouldn't consider him.

It's really hard to try and think of someone. Maybe Chris Nevin again :I

I don't think nevin is the number 1 wicketkeeper in New Zealand though.. I think lou vincent will keep in the world cup

Matt Horne. I think he has been tried so many times before. When he is on form that is fine but he is a bit like Matt Bell. on form for one season and ten back off again.

Nevin is a **** keeper- hes stuffed up too many times, we can't afford to have those chances blundered. Matt Horne looked really good opening in one dayers here in provincial cricket, when he decides to go after the ball, he really goes after it!
I reckon Lou will be alright, hes got the right attitude, with experience he will get a lot better.
What about Doull?!!! Did anyone see him open for ND, hes not a bad slogger... but seriously, the nz selectors have got a few problems.

Horne should not even be near the NZ team as far as ODIs are concerned. They are better off taking Brendon McCullum over and giving him experience like they are with Butler rather than Horne wasting time with his rather poor technique.

I think with the team in the West Indies, they should open with Nevin, he actually hasn't done too badly recently, although yes his keeping is not the best.

The other option is to let Vincent open & keep, I think he would make a good one day keeper.

Im concerned that NZ is going down this track of opening the batting with bowlers who slog it like Doull or Cunis has for their respective provinces.

This is one of the reasons why a country can perform badly on the international stage because when it comes down to selecting a team, provinces have been mucking around with sloggers rather than proper openers.

NZ cricket should set out some rules to the Provinces & make sure their tactics are not so circus like.
