And by the same token, why ban South Africa during the Apartheid area?

There needs to be a line somewhere. Zimbabwe for my money have crossed it due to the sheer volume of institutionalised discrimination and human rights abuse.

If sport and politics could be kept seperate the sporting World would be a better place.
Sadly for the enjoyment of sport, there are more important things than sport. Politics transcends everything.
As Neil says, if you're searching for ethical perfection you're going to be disappointed all the time. The British and American Govornments are far from perfect, but I don't think many people would accuse even GWB of sinking as low as Mugabe.
