Would like a specialist captain for that #5 spot. Perhaps Lloyd or Waugh if I can wangle it

The OP - Compy in, Noursy on ice ?

Each day I will put each participant's name in to a randomiser, and the order they come out in determines which nation each participant gets to choose from that particular day. Each participant chooses any player who has played at least one test for that nation. The round closes when I randomise the next round (at least 24 hours). If someone hasn't chosen by the time I post the next round, they must wait until the completion of the draft to choose from players unselected from the particular nation they missed.

England
Australia
South Africa
West Indies
New Zealand
India
Pakistan
Sri Lanka
Zimbabwe
Bangladesh

Note- It's obviously possible that you might choose multiple times from Bangladesh. Conversely, it's also possible you'll choose multiple times from Aust or Eng.

Draft will be completed in 12 days once participants are finalised. Participants only need to be able to log on and select once every 24 hours.

Post if keen.

That's ****ed up. I already missed out on picking Richards just for coming to pick as soon as someone reminded me.

We've never disallowed people from catching up before.

Catching up when you next picks is usually the policy IIRC. Why are the rules different here?

In typical Drafts you only get to pick every 2-7 days because the selections are one at a time, 12 hours at a time. So you quite literally don't really know when you are up next unless you keep checking.

In this style of Draft there is no guess work. Picks are made once every 24 hours because there is no waiting for everyone else to take their turn. Simple.

I guess it's simplicity means that the Draft can, and should, be moved along quickly rather than slowly. But I'm only second guessing Monk here.

The only question is one of timing on the current round. If Howe had posted his SA catch up pick before watson (and chosen Richards) who gets precedence?

Personally I don't have a problem with catch up picks as long as they're made after the current round pick, which is exactly how things have panned out here with watson picking first, then Howe with his catch up pick.

Yeah don't see why catching up is not allowed.

Up to Monk though I guess.

I decided not to do catch up picks because of the nature of the draft. It was stated at the outset that you only need to come on once every 24 hours in this draft to make your pick (unlike a normal draft when it can be very random, and you may not get to pick for quite a few days). I figured it's a simpler way to run a quick draft. And I stated it in the opening post.

There's a sure thing ("SaddleUp") running at Flemington this afternoon at 4pm. You should definitely put some money on it BeeGee because you're bound to win.
