Good team Morgeib - dangerous bowling attack and a solid middle-order kick-started by a couple of attacking openers. Like it.

Graeme Hick to round my team off - a much better bat than his reputation suggests, a decent offie and he'll complete a top class slip cordon with Athers and Sir Beefy

Sitting here analysing your team over a healthy lunch consisting of lamington cake and a cup of coffee - I'd say definitely top 3 contention with Crowe/Gower/Chanderpaul and McGrath/Holding being standouts.

International Captain
And Azhar Mahmood makes the final cut.

A stalwart of the Sydney Thunder, crafty with changes of pace and swing, stealthy with a bottle-top and according to Days of Grace the artist behind the 7th best Test innings of all time. Only 28 Tests but gets in on the back of three man-of-the-match awards against the wrath of Donald and Pollock.

So the final cut is:

1. Gary Kirsten
2. Graham Gooch*
3. Brian Lara
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. Allan Lamb
6. Ravi Shastri
7. Azhar Mahmood
8. Ian Healy+
9. Chaminda Vaas
10. Damien Fleming
11. Craig McDermott

Coach: Darren Lehmann
Bowling coach: David Saker
Batting coach: Mike Brearley
High performance/fitness manager: Mike Gatting
Media spokesman: Shakoor Rana

Home ground is Antigua. Bowl me out, ****s.

That top 4 is very unfair LHC.

And I think that you were probably right going for a line n' length seamer like Mahmood rather than a spinner.

watson, were you talking about Phil Edmonds for the remaining spinner?
I used to like watching Phil Edmonds bowl, and I seriously considered him for my side. Kind of wish that I did include him.

But no, there's a classier left-armer that no one's picked yet. Unfortunately his career clashed with some well established spinners so he got left on the side-lines even though he deserved to play 50+ Tests. Couldn't bat to save his life though.
