This series gonn' be ossum. Especially if we find a way to score runs. And it doesn't rain.

Will be less awesome if follows the home/away pattern vs South Africa

Within the week I'd say. Doubt there's any pressure on Mitch to play the final on Sunday, did say he was "not far away at all" a week ago.

I'm always up for mad speculation

Guptill
Ronchi
Williamson
Taylor
Watling (wk)
McCullum
Franklin
NcCullum
Mills
Southee
McClenaghan

Elliott
Latham
Anderson
Henry

Kitchen and Papps unlucky.

Somehow i doubt How will be left out, Ronchi has been in **** form and Papps wont be picked so:

How
Guptill
Williamson
Taylor
Elliot
McCullum
Franklin
Vettori
Southee
Mills
Mitch M

N McCullum
Neesham
Henry
Watling

Littlejohn's really the last one likely to say 'your numbers in this discipline were poor but you were injured and not yourself, I'll give you the scholarship anyway' tbh.

I think this is closest to the best ODI team we can put together. Still not sure about How. So while we're speculating, how about they say to Jimmeh "you have one last chance, you open in the IPL, open for us. Just smash it bro".

Then your back ups are

Neesham
Henry
NcCullum (will he really not be in the team? Really?)
And batting back up - How/Ronchi/Papps/Munro/Latham/Anderson/Rutherford/Fulton - Whoever. Probably an opener would be best as that is the area where we look super vulnerable. Is it wrong to suggest I think Kane would be a good ODI opener?
