Would be awesome to see JB go on to a ton sometime tomorrow morning.

New ball to get through first though.

Not ideal. These two will have to learn about silly strokes like that when you've already got a score. i.e don't do them.

And this is what happens when your batsmen are happy to give their wicket away on a plate, keep making a contest with the 7th/8th best Test side.

No ****ing way South Africa would let up once their big names got in. They wouldn't piss it all away playing a nothing shot to the first delivery of the new ball. Can you imagine the stick opening batsmen would get if they played Root's shot to the first delivery of the innings? The only difference is Root's in - but he's not in against a new ball.

Yeah, 'big names', not 20 year old rookies. And the only difference is he's played freaking well and scored 100 before that shot, give the guy a break.

Quite the collapse, got to agree with Scaly I wanna see Joe Root brought to account for this

Yea nice 100 and now you've given it away and contributed to the wickets that followed. Congrats. It's nothing to do with experience, it's just about cricketing intelligence. If England want to aspire to being number 1 again they'll have to do a lot better than giving it away like that.
