So Ponting and the two Husseys gone.

No Smith, Henriques or Bird which is a bit surprising. Khawaja really does have a lot of hard work to do.

I can't believe that Faulkner was included and not Bird. CA selection committee really aren't very good.

Based on a formula of likelihood to play the 3 formats. Bird likely squad member in tests - not a walk up start mind you - but not likely to figure in shorter formats any time soon, hence the low ranking.

Tassie the real winners, they forgot what Steve Smith just did in India.Inverarity said Smith may not tour England.
    Tassie contracts,
    Silk,Cosgrove,Cowan (CA)Ponting,Doolan,Bailey (CA),Wells,Paine,Dunk,Faulkner(CA),Gulbris,Butterw orth,Doherty(CA)Allanby,Hilfenhaus (CA),Bird,Vandergurten,Fekete.
Tasmania defintely got room to buy players, maybe even buy another premiership.

+ also didn't play much cricket for aus in the last 12 months, which is a factor. no surprise. cowan sorta a precedent here.
Indians can't bowl - Where has the rumour come from as I myself and many indian friends arwe competent fast bowlers ?

With the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left

    Yeah, think that's about right.

Best way back for Usman is ODI's, I reckon.

Six batsman in a squad of 20 and one of them does not have Test experience so its almost certain that the next time we play a Test someone from outside the squad will play, which makes the whole contracts list quite frustrating.

Over 0.2: Putland to Nevill, OUT, no run, full ball swings in late to crash into his pads. Nevill is almost falling over trying to get bat on it but can't. Huge shout for LBW and Umpire Martell eventually raises the finger! P.Nevill - lbw b:Putland 0 (1 ball, 1 minute).

Best way to motivate Maxwell to tighten his game and perform with more consistency is to give him more money

Wish my boss took that attitude

When he does make sure you give me a call when there's a vacancy. I'll be on a $million a year in no time!

I find CA's faith in Maxwell disturbing.

How do they justify the inclusion of Hilf?

Hopeless in shorter formats and, at best, the 5th best seamer in longer formats behind Pattinson, Siddle, Starc and Bird

It doesn’t create hungry cricketers when you have 20 contracted players being paid in the range from $230 000 to $2 million (base payment)

It should be 12 contracted players, and then the rest could be on $200 000

That way, you won’t have the 15th ranked player for instance (and that could be somebody like Maxwell, given that he plays (and not very well) at least two forms) earning upwards of $600 000 base payment but not contributing much

Not that I want to come across as anti-CA though
