Yes Gohar looked good. Plenty in the wicket but expert control and thinking.

Bowling Higgins was great bit of work with some good thining by all. Higgins correctly decided his best chance of getting a boundary was a reverse sweep/hit which he'd got away a few times and given Gonar bowling offstump and turning it away. Gonar adjusted, correctly assumed Higgins would go for the reverse and pitched it outside legstump.

None of the English players really looked ready for county cricket at the moment. Pakistani fielding was so bad. It was a good game to watch though although the last 15 overs took an eternity to get through.

Cam White (he's still alive; who knew?) shells Rutherford off Willey minor and then tonks him for a massive Dorothy over backward point next ball.

Be interesting to see the stats for boundaries off the next ball following a drop. Seems to happen loads.

Ravi piddling along as normal at the start of his innings. This is what opens him up for criticism, when it comes off, and he ends up blasting at the end it looks great, but if the first big shot he goes for loops up in the air and he gets out for 20 off 27, it looks like a massive waste of deliveries.

And, as I type, Bopara smacks one straight up in the air and gets out. What a muppet.

Dick Knight seems to think its even at the moment indeed he's just said its a decent effort and Essex will be pretty happy. Reckon Northants are well on top myself but if Knight is correct it means the pitch is pretty **** already for the first of three matches

That really wasn't a clever drop was it, going to cost them a fair few runs.

Not just on one innings, but long been an advocate for Foster in T20s, hits a dent ball at the end, but his 'keeping can save dozens, standing up, and getting stumpings, was superb in that one World Cup he played.

Yeah I've never figured out why he was discarded.
