Lancs have to be worried about a deduction with that many wickets to go down in a day.

Ponting retiring after the CLT20 but playing at Headingley tomorrow, empted to make the journey up to watch the game, him and KP playing and Yorks bowling attack back to full strength makes it tempting.

Dunno, the truth is out bowlings brilliant and batting toss, should suffice I hope.

Ponting going soft. Drops out with a sore hand. Shame would have been nice to see him and KP in the same team. Probably won't get that chance again.

Moeen having a good season with the bat. Guess shows the difference between the two divisions as he struggled last year. And probably the reintroduction of the heavy roller has made the wickets flatter most places. The wicket at Worcester in general this season have meant to be agonisingly slow and low.

Notts Sussex on the tv later. James Taylor having an excellent season in OD cricket.

On form he should have probably got a look in the OD side ahead of Bopara as it is Bopara's not done so bad.

Another hundred partnership between Ballance and Gayle. Reckon the batting order might be alright there

Keeds struggling again I see - really surprised at the extent of his travails this summer - I wonder what's gone wrong for him

    Bowling style Slow left-arm orthodox

    i think that's the reason
Indians can't bowl - Where has the rumour come from as I myself and many indian friends arwe competent fast bowlers ?

With the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left

I appreciate that playing for Surrey he doesn't get to bowl at KP, but there must be more to it than that

..... and 72 to win - need to get without losing a wicket to keep the pitch inspectors at bay - I'd promote Katman and Prince to open if I were Chappy

BBC Radio Northampton's Chris Egerton at Old Trafford

David Smith's comments on the Old Trafford pitch have livened things up off the field while his players battle on against the odds. The Northants chief executive told BBC Radio Northampton "the pitch looked underprepared and the scorecard supports this view". But ECB pitch inspector Jack Birkenshaw has confirmed he will take no action over the pitch, saying consistent bowling and poor batting has contributed to the state of the match, which could well be completed inside two days.

My god! A fat bloke's eaten Samit Patel!!

Sammy and the pies have clearly had a very affectionate relationship since he was dropped from the test and ODI sides.

    Meanwhile: shut up Allott.

"I don't know what James Taylor did wrong to get dropped from the test side"

Apart from scoring about half a run and looking likely to nick anything outside off because he's always trying to turn things to the on-side, no. Nothing.
