Kent, chasing 337, are incredibly up with the rate.
And then some, with Darren Stevens reaching 100 off 44 balls and Sam Northeast actually living up to the hype. At 275 for 2 off 32 overs, it would now be a shock if they lost. Extraordinary match.

Claydon hits his first ball for 6, it's not too often you see a SR of 600.00 next to the batsman's name.

Well Northants have beaten Essex but I'm sure we would still accept 21/5. Usually their tail that scores all their runs though

Good to see Tom Smith back - has he been injured or out of favour?
I think he was left out first game of the season but then got injured and has only just returned, he played a couple of seconds games as either a batsmen only or with restricted bowling but fully fit now. No surpise that Croft has been dropped either

And Tom didn't even get to turn his arm over - I reckon we've got a fighting chance of getting a first innings lead for once

Good to see Parry getting a proper FC game for once, seems to be bowling well this year.

Not that Hogg or Chapple need any support.

Be interesting to see this Reece and how he does, has been scoring in the 2nds, and did decent for Leeds/Bradford against the first team. Believe he can throw down a few overs too

Hadn't noticed that - incredible really that this is only his fifth FC match in more than six years, and at this rate he may not even get a bowl - his loyalty is admirable

Would he get a number one spinners role in FC elsewhere though? He's our number 1 LO bowler and has been for a few years so he is probably on a decent contract.

Anyway 67/3 not great but at least already a lead, Katich going alright and apparently Prince got a stinker of a decision. Swing doing the damage so hopefully we won't fall foul of the pitch inspectors, apparently this is the same pitch we have a suspended sentence on from last year but that was when Ali and Croft got craploads of wickets on a bunsen

Ponting retiring after the CLT20 but playing at Headingley tomorrow, empted to make the journey up to watch the game, him and KP playing and Yorks bowling attack back to full strength makes it tempting.

Ponting going soft. Drops out with a sore hand. Shame would have been nice to see him and KP in the same team. Probably won't get that chance again.

Moeen having a good season with the bat. Guess shows the difference between the two divisions as he struggled last year. And probably the reintroduction of the heavy roller has made the wickets flatter most places. The wicket at Worcester in general this season have meant to be agonisingly slow and low.

Notts Sussex on the tv later. James Taylor having an excellent season in OD cricket.
