Started a bad day but ended a decent one. is this the rebirth of Adil Rashid as a serious player? Runs can only build the confidence and a confident bowler can get wickets.

    Graham Napier. WAFG.

Take some wickets too, lad, and we won't have to see Saj Mahmood bowl.

It looks like Topley and Masters won't give him the chance - our batting really is quite shambolic

Hmmm. Katich (that well known Lancastrian) seems to fancy his chances though.

Not once "oor Saj" got on the job - anyway is he not one of the Oswaldtwistle Katichs then?

Our batting seems to have reverted to the state it was in last year.

Been wanting to see Gurney for awhile, lf next to their name always interests me for some reason.

Graeme Smith flying back to SA with the chronic ankle problem. Pretty big blow for Surrey. Doubt they'll see him again this season.

Might mean Ponting staying the rest of the season then once he joins up with Surrey.

The catching is just as bad. About half a dozen dropped chances in this match.

Napier was dropped 3 times at least, I understand. On 9, in the thirties and as he approached his hundred. Take those catches and Lancashire are in the lead.

First 50 ever for briggs, if he could add batting to his CV, would really help him push past the likes of Monty and Kerrigan in the England reckoning.

Oh he's out as I'm writing this typical....
