Read-Swann-Broad-Shahzad is an insane #8-11. Fletcher was nightwatchman but still, that's nuts.
Yeah Shahzad averages over 20 with a HS of 88 so rather better than your average number 11. Durham having to chase about 170 in 25 overs could be very interesting.

Madsen gone now, Derby 52 behind. Backs to the wall stuff needed for them.

Looks like Durham are returning to 2-3 years ago where they controlled games and did everything but win them.

Surprised he's still getting a game ahead of Rafiq. Guess they figured that the seamers would do most of the damage in early season conditions anyway and that they might as well go with the better bat, because Rafiq is clearly the better spinner at the moment.
Rafique's injured. Out until at least the end of May.

Have to bowl the overs though don't they? Unlikely that light's going to be a factor if it's anything like we have here.

So are Durham and Yorkshire going to follow the same pattern this week as last? Durham dominate a game and fail to win and Yorkshire pull a victory out of nowhere late on the last day?

If Durham don't win they could struggle for the rest of the season as it could damage morale.

Unless they really take the piss they will get through more overs than the bare minimum.

But even still there will barely be more than 21 overs bowled after Swann's wasted about 25 minutes getting treatment

Doubly annoying considering how flimsy our batting will be for the next game and he's a handy batsman.
Yeah; Rashid could've gone up the order and focused more on his batting for the game. Rafiq probably would've ended up in the lower middle order himself anyway as you said.

What happened to him anyway?

Bollocked his knee. They're being careful about it though. Rafiq out for six weeks

Doesn't seem to be needed for this game mind, Brooks with two in two now.

It's not even a session because tea was delayed until after 4.

It's highly unlikely Durham will get anywhere near it.
