Notts have just lost their fifth, Mullaney gone ... phenomenal scoring at Headingley, 88 off the last 10 and more than 400 today - Bairstow could get 200 tonight at this rate ... 100 up for Essex ... Lancs hitting back with four wickets.

Anyone thinking of going to the game at the Oval on Monday btw?

I think he'll be reasonably happy with 186 :p - he hit a 6 the ball before he got out, with only a few balls to go, so fair play to him. I would have thought Yorkshire would want a few more, 650 perhaps, before trying to put the Derby batting under pressure.

Good to see a win for Essex, but really it seems that it was Napier & Masters versus Hampshire. No way we're gonna have a decent season if the top order can't score any runs.

Someone (else) seems to be quite a fan of Wood.

Nottinghamshire v Durham, Trent Bridge, 3rd day Report : Ashington's Mark Wood returns with success for Durham | Cricket News | ESPN Cricinfo

"Wood, by some distance the sharpest bowler on display in this match"
Back to your earlier point about why he didn't play last week, always the way. The young players always have to wait a chance at the start of a season as the senior men get first go. It is wrong but happens everywhere every season.

Surprised at the spinners doing the damage for Durham today, I think Notts have helped them by not being more aggressive.

Notts 133 ahead with just over 30 overs left ... not sure about Shahzad's batting pedigree but Swann is certainly capable of putting this out of Durham's reach if he gets the support he needs.

Fourth wicket falls at Headingley - Derby still 63 behind ... losing this one would hit them very hard.

Rashid's just gone. Not even half the bowler he was two years ago.
Surprised he's still getting a game ahead of Rafiq. Guess they figured that the seamers would do most of the damage in early season conditions anyway and that they might as well go with the better bat, because Rafiq is clearly the better spinner at the moment.
