I don't think he's being at all serious:)
No I didn't think so either, but you never know around here ... anyway that one-day team:

Ali Brown
Alec Stewart (w)
Mark Ramprakash
Graham Thorpe
Graham Roope
Adam Hollioake (c)
Ben Hollioake
Martin Bicknell
Robin Jackman
Saqlain Mushtaq
Geoff Arnold

Disappointed that Barker is injured for tomorrow's game. Was looking forward to see him bowl on sky. Least there is Wright and possibly Jamie Overton to look at and asess as potential future england players.

Anyone with much knowledge on Leicestershire?

Angus Robson any chance of a game?
Just noticed that they're actually playing a University, so he could well have had a game, but not yet ... incidentally Leics are fielding eight players with three initials in their team today. Are they the new Hampshire?

Yeah, you'd think he'd be a fair way off if he wasn't picked for this one.

Bresnan returns with 4 so far. Wonder what his pace is like?

Encouraging either way as he was hardly getting wickets for Yorkshire when he played last season. Be great if the operation has enabled him to bowl quicker again.

900th wicket today for Claude Henderson. Very few get to four figures nowadays but he has an outside chance if he can stay fit for this season and play next year as well. Would be one of the lesser lights in the thousand club though.

Broad doing some damage at Derby I see ...
It's not Broad, only that Derbyshire batting is simply terrible, apart from Chanderpaul the Top 6 is genuinely one of the worst in the whole county circuit, what usually saves them is that the bowlers are all also decent bats (all of them averaging around 20 in recent times).

The bowling stocks on the other side are pretty good (even if there's not much depth)

I see Andre Adams has been injured for Notts. If a serious one the Notts title challenge may be over before it begins as he is their most important player in recent seasons.

Couple of wickets more going down in that last session than I would have liked but an excellent day for Hampshire, scored at a really good rate as well.

Adams unbeaten on on 151, has been a very good county batsman for a good while now.

Kent crawling just past 200 must have made rather tedious viewing at Old Trafford. At least Anderson got a second wicket, and a good run-out.

That Durham-Yorkshire game looks one to follow closely, Onions taking a wicket with the last ball of the day.

Damn, everywhere Chander plays, he's got his arse on fire. Time he got to relax in a strong batting line-up.

And, guess what? They got to 256 with 87* from Chanders, 49 from Clare and 39 from Dino. Now wait for the usual 'You can't judge our innings until both sides have batted" cry, then something of a fightback with the ball and the customary 50/5 in the second innings.

Well, at least this is good for the Windies!

Averages of batsmen as of today:

Godleman 22
Madsen 9
Durston 21
Chanderpaul 69
Redfern 14
Whiteley 2
Poynton (+) 7

(Palladino tops the table of the english players with 27.)

Perfect team to practice batting with your back against the wall I'd say.

Really looking forward to watching the opening day's play between Somerset and Warwickshire tomorrow. So many good players to watch whether that's the battle between Warwickshire's potent bowling attack and a very strong looking Somerset batting line-up, or just the exciting individual talents of Hildreth, Buttler, Chopra, etc.
